The T29 Heavy Tank was an American heavy tank. It was developed to counter the German Tiger II. The T29 was not ready in time for the war in Europe.
The T29 featured heavy armor; an upgraded 12-cylinder engine and a massive new turret incorporating a high-velocity gun. T29E3 variant featured a coincidence rangefinder projecting from both sides of the turret, distinctively resembling "ears".
