Because of the concerns about the new enemy fighters the German Air Force put out requirements for new fighters. The design of the Dr. Kurt Tank finally became the Fw190 which was regarded as one of the best fighter during the WWII at the end of 1903s. The fantastic performance of the Fw190 soon led to the replacement of the Messerschmidt Bf-109Focke-Wun FW190D-12. The D-12 model was developed in parallel with the D-11. The armament comprised a 30mm MK108 coaxial cannon and two MG151/20 20mm cannons in each wing. The aircraft was powered by a Jumo 213F engine which was the same as the D-11. The prototype once achieved a maximum speed of 730km/h at altitude of 9150m.
