Serving for the United States Air Force from the 1960s through the 1980s, the Con vair F-106 Delta Dart were con sidered as one of the best interceptor in the history of the US Air Force. They serviced as the primary all-wea the r interceptor aircraft of the Air Force and the Air Nation al Guard for more than 29 years. They are themain "dancing partner" of the Russian Tu-95 Bear tactical bombers. The Delta Dart was develop from the Con vair F-102 Delta Dagger, themore powerful Pratt  Whiteny J-75-P-17 engine offers the aircraft a higher speed to Mach 2. The application of thenew bigger engine means the larger of the aircraft.4 AIM-4 Falcon Missiles and an Air-2 Rocket can be carried in the weapon bay under the fuselage the F-106 took the first flight on 26th December 1956,and put into service on June 1959. their are 277 single seater A type were built.
