Item 39102 XM177E1 Carbine version of the M16 issued to some soldiers during the Vietnam war. It has a shorter barrel and telescoping stock making it substantially more compact. Often referred to as the "Colt Commando" this variant was issued to special forces, helicopter crews, Air Force pilots, officers, artillerymen are other non-front-line troops. Also used by the British SAS during the Falklands War.
