Hirobo's Lepton EX is the highest quality 500-size electric helicopter on the market. Continuing with Hirobo's high quality methodology, the Lepton will provide you with a fun platform for basic aerobatic flight to hardcore 3D without breaking a sweat!

The Lepton EX is noticeably bigger than a 400 size electric heli yet smaller than a 30-size nitro heli. This allows for easy transportation and the ability to fly comfortably in just about any sports playing field area. Unlike the larger nitro helis, because it is electric, the noise is minimal. Also due to its convenient size it is easier to transport, easier to see and more stable in windy conditions.

The Lepton EX requires no further upgrades! It arrives with the full gamut of option parts standard, so no need to upgrade. This includes carbon fiber single piece frame plates, SWM 120 degree control system. Aluminum is used throughout for the swash plate; washout, Mini Sceadu Evo style rotor head, mixing arms, stabilizer control arms, and tail case. Additionally, the Lepton is fitted with a downsized Sceadu EVO tail pitch control, a DTDS tail belt drive system, one-piece landing gear, and a full compliment of ball bearings for all moving controls. All metal option part pieces except the swash plate are anodized "Hirobo Blue" for the ultimate pride in ownership.

The Lepton EX kit does not include electronics. Just about any 850 KV -1000 KV out runner style motor with a 5mm output shaft will easily fit into the Lepton EX. A 4S 3700mah LiPo battery with a 20C rating or higher is suggested for sportsman 3D. For more ballistic performance a 6S pack (two 3s2100 LiPo packs, 20C or higher rating) is unboggable,
limit your head speed to 2950 maximum by changing your pinion gear accordingly.

For speed control, we recommend a 60A-80A rated ESC with an on-board or external BEC rated for 2.5 amps or more. For the best 3D performance, an ESC with governor functionality is advisable. If you plan to use a FM radio, a PCM receiver is highly recommended for the cleanest radio operation. Use of a PPM FM receiver is not recommended due to potential RF glitching.

We recommend three Futaba S3102, Airtronics 94751Z, JR DS362 or Hitec HS-82MG servos for cyclic controls, and a Futaba 9257 or Hitec HSG-5083MG for the tail rotor. Standard Servos will not fit. The Lepton EX will also accept any regular size gyro like the Futaba GY401, Spartan DS760, CSM 720, Hitec HG-5000 or similar gyro.
